Huntington Beach has a nice and new boutique hotel, the only boutique hotel in Huntington Beach. The Shorebreak Hotel located on 5th Street’s newly developed “The Strand” is one block north of the Huntington Beach pier. The Shorebreak Hotel is a great new place to grab a cocktail, check out some very cool surf art or watch a surf video being projected at check-in. Studio Light Room hosted another drawing contest, the second one of the year. Students at Esther Lindstrom Elementary in Bellflower, CA were asked, “What do you like to do for fun with your Dad?” The children drew pictures expressing their ideas and the results were spectacular! Two winners were chosen from the hundreds of entries and each received a 16”x20” canvas of their creation. These canvas prints were ready to hang and give to Dad for a memorable Father’s Day gift!

Studio Light Room hosted a Mother’s Day Drawing Contest at Jersey Avenue Elementary in Santa Fe Springs, California. We asked the students to: Draw what you like to do for fun with your mom. We had over 200 entries, all of which were creative, funny and endearing. We chose two winners and they each received a 16×20 canvas print of their original drawing. The canvas was ready to hang and it showcased their creativity and love for their moms…a perfect gift for Mother’s Day!

Thomas Campbell’s new surf film The Present made a stop at the Montalban Theatre in Los Angeles. Before the show The Matttson 2 and Ray Barbee rocked the house. Then, Thomas Campbell, Rob Machado, Dan Malloy and John Wegener went on stage handing out prizes which included an Alaia surfboard. The theatre was packed and the film was super sick.
